Our Sustainability Story

For us, sustainability has never been an afterthought, it is a personal conviction. Long before Juyicalton was born, we believed that luxury must exist in harmony with people and the planet. We’ve always been drawn to things made with care, designed to last, and respectful of nature’s resources. This belief became the foundation upon which Juyicalton was built: a brand that honours craftsmanship, values human connection, and seeks to tread lightly on the earth.

This vision began to take shape when we attended MICAM in Milan. There, we met our Italian manufacturing partner, a turning point in our journey. What struck wasn’t only the refinement of their shoes, but the warmth and sincerity with which they welcomed us. Over simple, healthy snacks and refreshments, I felt an immediate alignment of values, their approach to people and craft resonated deeply with mine.

Soon after, we travelled to their factory in Florence. The atmosphere was calm, filled with natural light, and alive with the joyful energy of artisans who take pride in their work. Watching them create, we recognised their commitment to make products that carry meaning, made responsibly and with care.

Together, we formalised our partnership, grounded in sustainability. We use natural, biodegradable leather sourced exclusively from certified Italian tanneries. This leather, a byproduct of the food industry, is treated using environmentally conscious methods, reducing waste and impact while ensuring unmatched durability and quality.

Our dedication extends to every detail, including our packaging. Each pair is presented in recyclable paper boxes which is free of plastic, minimal in waste, yet intentional in elegance.

At Juyicalton, sustainability is not a marketing word. It is the bond between our values and those of our partners, a shared vision of luxury that respects the world it draws from and the people who bring it to life.
